Hinterlands: a part of the country that is far away from the big city areas. I think of the hinterlands as being a place where one gets away from the dripping faucets of life, a place where clutter doesn't hide truth, and a place of discovery and wending. It could as easily be hiking the Continental Divide as it could be following Jesus during a hard time or stepping out in faith to a new experience.
